DECA Project Spotlights Orono Rotary Club
Posted by Dave Shaughnessy
Congratulations to Kelsie Quast and Kiersten Savoie who won second place at the MN DECA tournament on March 4-6, 2012. They are on their way to the National tournament in Salt Lake City. Their project called “Entrepreneurship Promotion Project” will help the Orono Rotary Club grow its membership by creating an improved presence online. Come hear them speak to our Rotary club on April 19, 7:15 AM, at the Lake Community Bank in Long Lake. Congratulations Kelsie and Kiersten!

Dear Orono Rotary Club Members,
We are writing to you regarding our Entrepreneurship Promotion Project we have been
completing for the past six months. State DECA is just around the corner on March 4, 5, and 6
and we wanted to formally thank each and everyone of you for assisting us with this project.
Without your help we wouldn't have been able to make it this far-we have really seen this
project come to life.
We were honored to be able to make beneficial suggestions to your organization and have seen
oronorotary.org make a complete 360. We both receive your e-mail newsletters and have
enjoyed navigating the new and improved oronorotary.org.
Our objective for this project was not to win an award or make it to Nationals in Salt Lake City,
our main goal was to be of service to you. The true success of this project comes from whether
our work has paid off for you. Your motto: "Service Above Self' has truly rung true to us while
completing this project.
Again, we thank you for working with us so graciously, and for providing us with so much
valuable information necessary for us to create this project.
