Orono Rotary is proud to announce their Seventh Annual Veteran's Day Celebrations, in conjunction with the Maple Plain Legion Post 514, which will present the colors at both events. The Orono Wind Ensemble will play a selection of patriotic pieces.

Colonel Maureen Banavige will be the keynote speaker at both events. Colonel Banavige, a local resident, is the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla. She serves a 9,500 personnel team responsible for $3B in revenue.
Additionally, she is responsible for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of a myriad of Air Force and Navy airborne accessory components, and the development and sustainment of a diverse portfolio of mission critical software.

“Veteran’s Day is an important day because it’s a way to celebrate our freedom, and show appreciation for the people who have sacrificed to provide it,” says Dave Shaughnessy, Orono Rotarian and past president.

Both events are free and open to all.
